Professional Football Club CSKA, commonly referred to as CSKA Moscow or simply CSKA outside of Russia, is a Russian professional football club. It is based in Moscow, playing its home matches at the 30,000-capacity VEB Arena. It plays in red and blue colors, with various plain and striped patterns having been used. Since 2001, the president of the club has been Russian businessman, Yevgani Giner.
The club was founded in 1911 and was initially known as the Amateur Society of Skiing Sports. The team participated in the Moscow Championship until the Soviet Union had a national competition in 1936. The club's first successful era began after World War II. They won all but one Championship title from 1946 to 1951.
In 2012, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation War Department sold 24.94% of the army club's main shareholder of PFC CSKA to Bluecastle Enterprises Limited (BEL). The deal amounted to $353,000.
In 2019, the State Corporation VEB.RF became the owner of more than 75% of the shares of PFC CSKA. They converted the football club's debt of over $240 million spent on the construction of the stadium into PFC CSKA shares.
