PRISMAFLO IIS an electronic medical device that can be used to warm the blood that is being returned during a PRISMAFLEX System treatment, which is administered for continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT). It can be used with the PrismaFlex System and is approximately seven inches long. PRISMAFLO is an attachment device and can be secured to the back of the PRISMAFLEX System. The device is manufactured and distributed by Baxter International.
The PRISMAFLO IIS Blood Warmer can be used on a standard CRRT filter set and uses an electric heating sleeve. It can be used by inserting the PRISMAFLEX System return line into the groove of the heating sleeve. By doing this, the blood stays warm as the CCRT is being administered so the patient's body does not have to do extra work in order to heat it back up to body temperature.
The device has a digital interface that shows actual and set temperatures and includes an integrated self-test. There are also independent sensors to monitor the temperature for patient safety. The control panel has various LED lights that indicate information to the medical professional, such as temperature and if the device is switched on.
