Paul Graham is a programmer, venture capitalist, and essayist from Mountain View, California. He graduated with an AB from from Cornell and a PhD in computer science from Harvard. He started Viaweb in 1995 with Robert Morris. After Viaweb was sold to Yahoo in 1998, Graham started publishing essays on his personal website. He has written extensively on the programming language Lisp. In 2005, he co-founded a startup incubator, Y Combinator, which worked with many early internet startups including AirBnb and Reddit.
