Pavel Belyayev was born on June 26, 1925, and was a Soviet Union citizen. He had occupations as an astronaut and a fighter pilot. Belyayev was educated at the Gagarin Air Force Academy. He passed away on January 10, 1970, in Moscow.
Throughout his life, Belyayev received many awards such as Hero of the Soviet Union, Order of Lenin, Order of the Red Star, Medal "For Battle Merit", and Jubilee Medal "Twenty Years of Victory in the Great Patriotic War 1941–1945". Additionally, he was awarded the Medal "For the Victory over Japan", Medal "For the Victory over Germany in the Great Patriotic War 1941–1945", Medal "For Valiant Labor in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945", and Jubilee Medal "30 Years of the Soviet Army and Navy".
Belyayev was also recognized with the Jubilee Medal "40 Years of the Armed Forces of the USSR", Jubilee Medal "50 Years of the Armed Forces of the USSR", Merited Master of Sports of the USSR, Hero of Socialist Labour, Order of Georgi Dimitrov, and Hero of Labor (Vietnam). Furthermore, he was honored as Hero of the Mongolian People's Republic, received the Order of Sukhbaatar, Order of Civil Merit (Syria), Order of Karl Marx, and Order of Ho Chi Minh.
