Pavel Popovich

Pavel Popovich was born on October 5, 1930, in Uzyn , and was a Ukrainian astronaut and aircraft pilot . Popovich was a student at the Zhukovsky Air Force Engineering Academy . He passed away on September 29, 2009, in Gurzuf .

Throughout his career, Popovich received numerous awards, including Hero of the Soviet Union , Pilot-Cosmonaut of the USSR , Order of the Red Star , and Order of Lenin . He was also honored with the Order of Friendship of Peoples , Order of Honour , and Order of Prince Yaroslav the Wise , among others.

Pavel Popovich was the child of Roman Popovich and Feodosia Popovich .
