Peepeth is a decentralized censorship resistant social media platform for micro blogging which uses the Ethereum blockchain as well as IPFS to store user content. The platform was developed by Bevan Barton and launched on March 27, 2018.
All content on the Peepeth platform is openly accessible to the public through the Ethereum blockchain, and the platform does not allow users to edit or delete their content after posting it. Peepeth pays the costs associated with writing to the Etherum blockchain, but has the ability to charge users for using their platform for free that it deems as spam.
Users are able to tip content creators on Peepeth and all tips are subject to a %10 fee charged by Peepeth. Users on the Peepeth platform are allowed one Enso (similar to a 'like' on other social media platforms) per day, which also get stored on the blockchain. Each post on Peepeth is limited to 130 words. Peepeth allows third parties to build alternative front-ends for Peepeth data, and this allows users to create platforms for viewing content removed from Peepeth for violating their terms of service agreement.
