Peter Berg (born March 11, 1964) is an American television and film director, producer, screenwriter, and actor. Born in New York City, Berg holds citizenship in the United States. He has been educated at Macalester College, Little Red School House, and Taft School.
Berg's extensive career includes work as a television director, television producer, executive producer, film director, screenwriter, and film producer, with notable roles as the creator of the television series "Friday Night Lights" (2006-2011) and the feature films "Deepwater Horizon" (2016) and "Hell or High Water" (2016).
As a director, Peter Berg has helmed films such as "Virtuality" (gaming), "Deepwater Horizon", "Patriots Day" and "The Kingdom". In addition to these, he has been a member of the board of directors for "The Rundown" and also served as CEO for the film "Deepwater Horizon".
