Peter Laird (born January 27, 1954) is an American comics artist and screenwriter[(2472695)]. Laird was born in North Adams, Massachusetts and holds citizenship in the United States. He studied at the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
Laird is notably the creator of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, a popular franchise consisting of comic books, animated TV series, and feature films. In addition to the main characters (Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael, and Michelangelo)[(78950688)], Laird has also created other characters in the series, such as Hamato Yoshi and April O'Neil.
As an author, Peter Laird has written numerous Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles comic books. He is also the founder of Mirage Studios, a publishing company that primarily focused on producing the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles comic books.
