Peter Oppenheimer is a businessperson who has expertise in finance. Oppenheimer attended California Polytechnic State University (Cal Poly) and graduated with his bachelor's degree in agricultural business management in 1985. He later attended the Leavey School of Business, Santa Clara University, where he obtained his Master of Business Administration.
Oppenheimer began his career as a consultant at an information technology company and moved into a leadership role in 1992 and was the chief financial officer (CFO) at Automatic Data Processing, Inc. He joined Apple in 1996 and acted as controller for the Americas, and in 2004, he became CFO of the company. It is reported that while he held that position, annual revenue for Apple grew from $8 billion to $117 billion. He retired from Apple in 2014 after spending eighteen years at the company.
Oppenheimer has held other leadership positions, such as being on the board of directors for the Cal Poly Foundation and Goldman Sachs.
