Peter Pham is a cofounder and managing director at Science, a Los Angeles-based incubator and venture firm. He is an early-stage investor and has served as an advisor or board member for several companies. Pham is known for being open to risk, not being concerned with being controversial, and speaking his mind. Further, he is often described as a "hype man," capable of marketing for early-stage companies, especially those building consumer brands, which can help companies raise funds and generate interest.
Peter Pham began his career with eight years in the enterprise hardware and software space, working at various companies, including Desktop Online, Vectant, Inc., Appswing, TiGi, and Corporate Connections, where he often worked in business development and helped companies have success while learning what made a company successful. From there, Pham shifted to the consumer internet space, working at Photobucket, where he was the apocryphal fifth employee and responsible for driving growth, which led to the company's acquisition by Fox Interactive Media.
Taking his experience in business development, Peter Pham cofounded and served as the CEO for BillShrink, a company working to help people save money, which would be acquired by MasterCard in 2012. In 2011, Pham cofounded and served as partner and managing director of Science.
Pham worked as a mentor at the Founder Institute and as an entrepreneur in residence for Trinity Ventures in 2010 and again in 2011 before cofounding Science. Since cofounding Science, he has worked with companies such as PlayVS, Liquid Death, and Mammoth Media to develop a strong brand identity. Through Science, he has made key investments in Ring, Kabam, Dollar Shave Club, Famebit, Hellosociety, and DogVacay.
Similarly, he has worked as an angel advisor to companies like Nextdoor, Ring, Medium, and Liquid Death. His investment activity has included early-stage investments in companies that are invested in through Science and companies outside of the venture capital firm, such as Wealthfront or Mate Fertility.
