Phasecraft is a company developing fundamental quantum theory and software for quantum computers. The company aims to design quantum algorithms to solve problems beyond the capacity of classical computation in fields such as:
- quantum materials
- batteries
- solar cells
- chemical reactions
- new catalysts
- optimization for industrial processes
- solving hard constraint satisfaction problems
Phasecraft is building an understanding of current and near-term quantum computing capabilities. This will be followed by securing partnerships with companies to co-develop solutions to the main problems they face, and then working with leading quantum hardware developers to implement the required technology.
Cofounded in 2018 by academics at University College London (UCL) and the University of Bristol Prof. John Morton, Dr. Ashley Montanaro and Dr. Toby Cubitt. Phasecraft has offices in Bristol and London.
On March 23, 2019, Phasecraft announced a Pre-Seed round investment of £750K from the UCL Technology Fund, Parkwalk Advisors and the London Co-Investment Fund. This pre-seed investment allows the company to hire the initial team and prove the concept that quantum computers can be used to solve relevant and complex problems.
