SBIR/STTR Award attributes
PreTalen proposes a series of field test demonstrations for a constellation of software-defined-radio (SDR) frequency and waveform agile transmitters that includes command and control (C2) and SDR receivers that navigate solely on the SDR transmitter constellation. The brass board prototypes created under a different Phase II SBIR will be leveraged and enhanced and manufactured in quantity for the prototypes that have the needed ruggedness for field testing. These demonstrations and tests will be ground-to-ground at this time and the system-of-systems testing will be preplanned and scripted. Our portable agile navigation signal transmitter is a small form fit, low SWAP-C, transmitter system that simultaneously generates multiple user-defined SW-controlled navigation signals and other signals across the 1 to 2 GHz RF band. This system is composed completely of commercially available and reasonably-priced components through to antenna input and is supported by a software architecture tool. Our system greatly advances the status quo state of GNSS signal generation that uses an array of relatively narrowband transmitters to broadcast GPS signals from satellites or Pseudolites (PLs). The advantages of our system are agility in frequency, waveform and data content, power control, and other agile applications for both space and terrestrial deployed navigation constellations.
