Both interactive and non-interactive proof of proof-of-work (NIPoPow) have been proposed. Proofs of proof-of-work are potentially useful to SPV nodes in a blockchain network in order to more efficiently verify transactions. Adding proofs of proof-of-work would require a modification to the Bitcoin codebase which would result in a small storage increase per block.
