PubNub is a company that provides cloud infrastructure for software and hardware development. PubNub was founded in 2010 by Stephen Blum and Todd Greene. PubNub aims to provide an alternative infrastructure that can handle the needs for next-generation electronics. PubNub’s headquarters is located in San Francisco, California.
PubNub provides a programmable network that can be used to develop applications in real-time. The company provides a software development kit (SDK) for more than 70 programming languages. With this, PubNub offers several frameworks – Project EON for deploying real-time maps, graphs, and dashboard and ChatEngine which accelerates mobile, web, and desktop chat development and deployment.
Since 2011, PubNub has raised $69.1 million in capital from seven funding rounds, with its most recent being a Series D. This round managed to amass $23 million on April 2019. PubNub has received financing from 16 investors, with five of them as lead investors. Previous investors of PubNub include Scale Venture Partners, Cisco Investments, Ericsson, Sapphire Ventures, and Hewlett-Packard Enterprise.
