Pyotr Lebedev was a physicist born on February 24, 1866, in Moscow. He held citizenship in the Russian Empire. Lebedev was educated at several institutions, including Bauman Moscow State Technical University, the University of Strasbourg, Saint Petersburg State Institute of Technology, and Imperial Moscow University. His doctoral advisor was August Kundt , and he had a doctoral student named Paul Sophus Epstein. Lebedev passed away on March 1, 1912, in Moscow. His birth name was Pyotr Nikolaevich Lebedev.
