Queen is a British rock band, formed in London in 1971. The original line-up consisted of Freddie Mercury (lead vocals and piano), Brian May (lead guitar and vocals), Roger Taylor (drums and vocals), and John Deacon (bass guitar). Queen signed their first recording contract with EMI in 1973, and released their first album that year—Queen.
