QuiX is a company that is developing plug-and-play integrated and reconfigurable light-based quantum processors based on silicon nitride waveguides. The company launched in January 2019 by Ad Lagendijk, Willem Vos, Klaus Boller, Pepijn Pinkse, and Jelmer Renema, scientists from the University of Twente and the Institute for Atomic and Molecular Physics (Amsterdam). Quix is supported by pre-seed investor RAPH2INVEST.
Quix's room temperature plug-and-play photonic processors are on stoichiometric Si3 N4 waveguides. They are optically and electronically packaged to enable remote and high-precision reconfigurability of the waveguide network’s functionality. With the wide transparency range of the material platform used, the processors can be interfaced via a range of different light sources from classical ones to single-photon sources (SPDC, Quantum dots) and detectors, connected via fiber connectors. Quix offers customized and optimized solutions for high-end applications.
