Rho Canada is a venture capital and private equity division of Rho Capital Partners focusing on making investments in Canadian technology companies that is headquartered in Montreal, Quebec and was founded in 2006 by Rho Capital Partners. The firm is focusing its investment on technology companies working in several industries which include: media, mobile applications, wireless infrastructure, semiconductors & materials, and software.
On May 23, 2012 Rho Canada announced closing their Rho Canada II venture capital fund with $100 million in funding. Particpating investors in the Rho Canada II fund include Teralys Capital (lead investor, investing $50 million), BDC Venture Capital, Ontario Venture Capital Fund and Fondaction. A partner of Rho Canada, Jeff Grammer, made the following statement regarding the firms Rho Canada II fund:
The closing of this second fund will enable Rho Canada to continue to add value to Québec entrepreneurs while delivering strong returns to our investors.
