Richard Donner, born Richard Donald Schwartzberg on April 24, 1930, was a film director, actor, film producer, screenwriter, executive producer, and writer from the United States. He was born in The Bronx and attended New York University. Donner passed away on July 5, 2021, in Los Angeles.
Donner directed multiple films, such as Superman (1978 film), Superman II: The Richard Donner Cut, The Goonies, and the Lethal Weapon series including Lethal Weapon, Lethal Weapon 2, Lethal Weapon 3, and Lethal Weapon 4. His directorial career started with his first release in 1957 and spanned until his latest release in 2012.
Additionally, Donner was a writer and author of comic book series, including Action Comics and Last Son and Escape from Bizarro World.
Richard Donner worked in a variety of genres, such as drama, comedy, romantic comedy, fantasy, adventure film, action film, horror film, thriller film, crime film, and family film. Some of his other notable works include Omen III: The Final Conflict, Free Willy, Free Willy 2: The Adventure Home, and The Lost Boys.

Richard Donner was married to Lauren Shuler Donner and was known to be the owner of the production company The Donners' Company.
