Video game developer, astronaut and entrepreneur
Richard Garriott, born on July 4, 1961 in Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, is a United States citizen with a diverse range of occupations, including astronaut, engineer, video game developer, programmer, businessperson, and investor. He is the founder of Portalarium, a video game development company. Garriott pursued his education at Clear Creek High School in League City, Texas.
Richard is the son of Owen K. Garriott, an astronaut. In addition to his work in the video game industry, Richard Garriott has also collaborated with game designer Graeme Davis. In recognition of his accomplishments, he has received the prestigious Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences' Hall of Fame award.
