Richard Kuhn (1900-1967) was a biochemist and chemist born in Vienna, Austria-Hungary. Throughout his life, he held citizenship in Austria-Hungary, Nazi Germany, and West Germany. He studied at the University of Vienna and Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich under the guidance of doctoral advisor Richard Willstätter. Kuhn's academic discipline primarily focused on chemistry.
Throughout his career, Kuhn worked in Austria and Germany, where he was recognized for his contributions to chemistry. In 1938, he was awarded the Nobel Prize in Chemistry. Additionally, he received the Goethe Prize in 1942. Kuhn passed away in Heidelberg in 1967.
