Richard L. Simon (June 3, 1899 – July 29, 1960) was an American entrepreneur who was born and died in New York City. He held citizenship of the United States and obtained his education from Columbia University .
Simon is best known as the founder of the publishing company Simon & Schuster . The company is also recognized as a subsidiary under his name .
Richard L. Simon was the father of Carly Simon, an American singer-songwriter, and Joanna Simon, a mezzo-soprano.
