Richard Linklater is an American screenwriter, film director, film producer, actor, director of photography, and television director. Born in Houston on July 30, 1960, as Richard Stuart Linklater, he is known for his idiosyncratic and personal films . Linklater was educated at Bellaire High School in Texas and later attended Austin Community College District.
As a director, he has worked on films such as "Bad News Bears", "APOLLO 10 1/2: A SPACE AGE CHILDHOOD", "BEFORE MIDNIGHT (2013)", and "BOYHOOD (2014)". His notable works include "School of Rock", "Tape", "Dazed and Confused", "Waking Life", "Before Midnight", "Before Sunset", "Before Sunrise", and "Last Flag Flying".
Throughout his career, Linklater has received numerous awards, including the BAFTA Award, AARP Movies for Grownups Awards, Alliance of Women Film Journalists EDA Award, and Austin Film Critics Association Award. He has also been a member of the board of directors for projects such as "School of Rock" and "Everybody Wants Some!!". Richard Linklater has a child named Lorelei Linklater.
