Riga Technical University (RTU) is a public educational institute located in Riga, Latvia. Established in 1862, RTU is an organization focused on education, higher education, and operates as a university. The university is also known by its alias, Rigas Tehniska Universitate.
RTU is affiliated with several international associations, including the European University Association, the European Association for International Education, the Baltic University Programme, the Baltic Sea Region University Network, the European Union Universities of Small States Association, and the European Universities Public Relations and Information Officers.
The university has been accredited by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Latvia and the European Quality Assurance Network for Informatics Education. RTU operates under the motto "The World Demands Technical Minds!".
Riga Technical University Open is a subsidiary of RTU.
