Roberto Rossellini, born on May 8, 1906, in Rome, was an Italian screenwriter, film director, actor, film producer, and playwright. He was a citizen of Italy and passed away in Rome on June 3, 1977.
Throughout his career, Rossellini directed numerous films, including Rome, Open City, Paisan, Germany, Year Zero, Vanina Vanini, and Ro.Go.Pa.G.. He also directed lesser-known films such as Escape by Night, India: Matri Bhumi, A Pilot Returns, and The Man with a Cross.
