Ronald M. Sega, born on December 4, 1952, is an American astronaut and a former officer in the Armed Forces. He is originally from Macedonia, Ohio, and holds citizenship in the United States. Sega is also an engineer by profession.
Sega received his education at several institutions, including Ohio State University, the United States Air Force Academy, and the University of Colorado Boulder. He is commonly referred to by his nickname, Ron.
Throughout his career, Sega has received numerous awards and recognitions. Some of these accolades include the NASA Outstanding Leadership Medal, NASA Space Flight Medal, and the NASA Superior Achievement award. He was also honored as the Distinguished Graduate of the United States Air Force Academy, Top Graduate of the Pilot Instructor Training Course, and was named Officer of the Year in the Department of Physics at the U.S. Air Force Academy. Additionally, Sega has been awarded the Meritorious Service Medal, Commendation Medal, and the USAF Reserve Achievement Medal.
