MARY ROSE BYRNE
Australian actress.
Born July 24, 1979, in Sydney (Australia).
From the age of eight attended acting classes at Australian Youth Theatre. Graduated from University of Sydney.
At age 12, first appeared on the screen as Rastus Sommers in the movie "Dallas Doll" (1994), then starred in a number of Australian TV series.
Byrne won international acclaim for her role as a blind girl in the drama "Goddess of 1967" (2000), for which she won the "Volpi Cup" for best female role at the Venice Film Festival.
Mass audiences are best known for her roles as Briseis in the film "Troy" (2004), Beth Buchwald in the melodrama "Adam" (2009) and Cassie in the sci-fi thriller Danny Boyle "Scorcher" (2007).
She has been nominated several times for Emmy and Golden Globe Awards for her work on the series "The Clash" (2007-2010), where she played ambitious lawyer Ellen Parsons.
