Rothenberg Ventures

Rothenberg Ventures is a venture capital firm that seeks to invest in the virtual reality, augmented reality, robotics and electric vehicles, artificial intelligence and machine intelligence, space, drones and hardware sectors. The firm was founded in 2012 and is based in San Francisco, California.

In 2014 Rothenberg Ventures launched the River Accelerator program, an accelerator dedicated to virtual and augmented reality startups, which now includes all frontier technology categories. The River Accelerator today is operated by the consulting company River Ecosystem LLC (founded September 2016), with the 4th River Accelerator program starting November 2017. The pre-session in the River Lounge begins September 2017.

Rothenberg Ventures closed after founder Mike Rothenberg came under suspicion for fraud by the Securities and Exchange Commission in June of 2016. They brought formal charges against Mike Rothenberg in August 2018.
