Russell Conwell (1843-1925) was a multifaceted individual with occupations as a writer, minister, and lawyer. Born in South Worthington Historic District, he later became a citizen of the United States. Conwell was educated at Yale University and Albany Law School, which helped set the foundation for his various careers.
Conwell was not only known for his diverse professions, but also as the founder of Temple University. He passed away in Philadelphia in 1925, leaving behind a long-lasting legacy in the form of the institutions and contributions he made during his lifetime.
