RT (formerly Russia Today: from English - "Russia Today") - Russian international multilingual network of information TV channels funded by the Russian government.
Russian Russian consists of the main English-language information TV channel RT International, the English-language TV channel in the USA RT America, the English-language TV channel in the UK RT UK, Arabic-language RT Arabic, Spanish-language RT en Español, French-language RT France, German-language RT DE, the documentary channel RT Documentary in English and Russian, the Russian-language website "RT in Russian", the Ruptly news video agency and the Maffick media company [en].
RT's editorial staff positions it as a TV channel offering an alternative view of what is happening in Russia and the world, covering events that do not attract the attention of the world's media, as well as introducing the audience to Russia's official point of view on the most important international events[5]. A number of politicians, media and experts in the media sphere (primarily Western ones) characterize RT as a propaganda channel that rigidly follows the foreign policy line of the Russian leadership; accuse it of disinformation, bias and bias in the selection and presentation of information . Accusations of RT's interference in the internal affairs of a number of states served as the basis for imposing significant restrictions on the activities of RT and its subsidiaries in these states.
RT has reached the final of the Emmy International Awards nine times.
