S&P Global Market Intelligence's site offers news and information via a blog, videos, podcasts, and research articles. Users can also sign up for free newsletters.
S&P Global Market Intelligence hosts online and in-person events. In-person events include executive conferences, breakfast briefings, and training seminars, including on-site client training when needed. Training seminars combine lectures, group work, and case studies. Webinars are also offered to provide on-demand, online content. Industries covered include banking, metals and mining, energy, insurance, technology, media and telecom and real estate (REIT). As a registered and approved continuing professional education (CPE) sponsor with the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA), their live programming is eligible for CPE credit.
The S&P Global Market Intelligence division of S&P Global accounts for about $2 billion in revenue, the vast majority of which is subscription revenue. Approximately two-thirds of the revenue comes from United States-based customers. The division has three categories of revenue:
- desktop solutions, which account for over half the revenue and include the S&P Capital IQ and market intelligence platforms, sector-focused news, and third-party research
- credit risk solutions, such as RatingsDirect®, RatingsXpress®, and Credit Analytics and scorecards
- data management solutions, such as Xpressfeed™, CUSIP®, GICS®, and cross-reference data
S&P Global Market Intelligence was rebranded in February 2016. It was formed from a combination of S&P Capital IQ and SNL Financial. S&P Global, previously called McGraw Hill Financial, acquired SNL Financial in 2015 and combined it with their S&P Capital IQ division. In February 2022, the parent company S&P Global completed a merger with IHS Markit and integrated the IHS Markit's Financial Services division with S&P Global Market Intelligence.
