SRI is a non-profit research institute that serves government and industry clients in research and development from the laboratory to the marketplace. SRI International works with clients in basic and applied research, development, deployment and commercialization. SRI International was originally founded in 1946 by Stanford University as The Stanford Research Institute but it is own separate enterprise. SRI International has 4000 patents and past projects include iPhone Siri voice assistant, helping Walt Disney choose the location for Disneyland and developing Electronic Recording Machine Accounting (ERMA) with Bank of America . SRI is working in artificial intelligence, robots and wearable technology that can regulate body temperature and has been awarded a $20 million contract to develop a cancer vaccine .
