Salvador Luria

Salvador Luria, also known as Salvador Edward Luria , was born on August 13, 1912, in Turin, Italy . He was a chemist and microbiologist by occupation . Luria received education from multiple institutions, including the University of Turin, Columbia University, and Sapienza University of Rome .

One of his notable students was James Watson, a molecular biologist . Luria's notable achievement was his receipt of the 1969 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine . He passed away on February 6, 1991, in Lexington, Massachusetts .
