The state educational institution of higher professional education “Samara State Aerospace University named after academician S.P. Korolev (National Research University)” (SSAU) was founded in 1942 as Kuibyshev Aviation Institute (KuAI) with the purpose of the preparation of the engineers for the aircraft industry. In 1966 Kuibyshev Aviation Institute was named after academician S.P. Korolev. In 1992 Samara Aviation Institute was renamed into Samara State Aerospace University named after academician S.P. Korolev, when the University was 50.
SSAU accomplishes the preparation of the specialists for the space-rocket, aircraft, radio-electronic, metallurgical, automotive industry and other industries on full-time, part-time (evening) and correspondence courses for 54 basic educational programs and 6 programs of additional professional education. After graduation, the state diploma is given with such qualifications: Specialist, Bachelor, Master.
