Samuel Leeds Allen was born on May 5, 1841, in Philadelphia and passed away on March 28, 1918, in Miami. He was a citizen of the United States. Allen received his education at Westtown School. He worked as a farmer and an inventor. In 2007, he was inducted into the National Inventors Hall of Fame.
