Sander Dorenbos is a Netherlands-based physicist from Jakarta, Indonesia. He is the CEO and co-founder of Single Quantum, a company making optical imaging and telecommunication systems. Dorenbos obtained a master’s in physics from the Delft University of Technology, located in the Netherlands. After graduating from the university in 2007, Dorenbos conducted research on semiconducting nanowires for the purpose of gas sensing at Philips. That same year, he returned to the Delft University of Technology to obtain his Ph.D. and conduct research on superconducting nanowire single-photon detectors. In 2012, Sander Dorenbos co-founded Single Quantum with Val Zwiller in Delft, Netherlands. For the company’s first year of operation, Dorenbos functioned as the CTO. In May 2013, he took on the role of CEO at Single Quantum.
