Sanity

Sanity.io is a software company that is developing a content management system (CMS). The company was founded by Even Westvang, Magnus Kongsli Hillestad, Oyvind Rostad, and Simen Svale Skogsrud in 2016, and has offices in San Francisco, California, and Oslo, Norway. Sanity.io uses APIs to structure a company's content, including photos, text, video, and other media forms. The software acts as a back end for content management and provides access to various APIs, libraries, and tooling that allows users to access previously developed content.

Sanity.io has developed two product solutions for content management for different content development stages: Sanity Data Store and Sanity Studio.

Sanity Data Store offers components that are used in the content development process, including:

• Querying for content
• Creating and updating documents
• An asset pipeline
• Utility endpoints

Sanity Studio is the open-sourced CMS that is connected to the Sanity datastore. The platform is written in React and published on npm. Additionally, the source code is published on Sanity.io's GitHub. Sanity Studio is used for managing editorial workflows and allows users to edit and create content within the interface. The application also allows CMS customization, enabling users to change the development of an internal application for content management and storage.
