Before founding NeoSensory, Novich founded another company white in grad school called Glitch.FM, a live radio broadcasting that was entirely internet-based. Novich passed off the station sometime between 2013 and 2014, but it has continued to stream music over the years and at present in 2020.
Novich attended Rice University from 2003-2007, where he achieved a BSEE in electrical and computer engineering. During this time, he also worked at KTRU, the Rice University radio station.
After graduating with his undergraduate degree, Novich returned to Rice University in the fall of 2007 to begin his second Bachelor's degree and Master's degree. Novich also obtained an additional Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering specializing specifically in signals and systems in 2008. He then finished his Master's in electrical engineering with a specialization in wireless communications in 2010.
Novich returned to Rice University in the fall of 2010, after graduating with his Master's to begin his Ph.D. in electrical and computing engineering. His graduating thesis focused on sensory augmentation using sound-to-touch substitution. His thesis would later become the framework for his company NeoSensory.
