Seamus Heaney

Seamus Heaney, born on April 13, 1939 in Castledawson, was an Irish poet, playwright, prose writer, author, and actor. Heaney held citizenship in the Republic of Ireland and lived in Northern Ireland.

Heaney received his education at St Columb's College, Bates College, and Queen's University Belfast. He primarily focused on poetry as his genre, and his notable works include 'Death of a Naturalist', 'District and Circle', and the poetry collection 'Human Chain'. Seamus Heaney was awarded the 1995 Nobel Prize in Literature.

Heaney passed away on August 30, 2013, in Dublin.
