SELMA BLAIR
She was born on June 23, 1972, in Southfield, USA.
She attended Kalamazoo College (1990-1992).
After graduating college, she dreamed of becoming a professional photographer and to achieve her goal, she moved to New York and enrolled at the University of Michigan, where she received her bachelor's degree in 1994.
After a while the girl discovered theater and realized that photography was not what she really wanted to do.
Deciding to become an actress, Selma began attending the Stella Adler Conservatory. Soon a representative of an acting agency offered her an opportunity to star in television commercials.
Her first film roles were played by the actress in independent films, except for an episode in the popular comedy "In and Out" (1997) Frank Oz.
In the late '90s, she starred in the teen films Strongman's Island (1997), The Girl (1998), and Brown's Requiem (1998).
In 1997, Blair applied for the lead role in the TV series "Buffy," but lost to Sarah Michelle Gellar. Then Selma got one of the main roles in the TV show "Personal Interest", but the series launched without her. The actress still managed to stay on television: for two seasons she played in the series "Zoe, Duncan, Jack and Jane.
For the first time at Blair drew attention after the painting "Cruel Intentions" (1999) - film adaptation of the novel by Charles de Laclos "A dangerous relationship," where the actress got the role of the naive and trusting Cecile Kaldvell.
"I was very nervous - says Selma. - On the set I was not noticed because no one knew who I am and what my name. It seemed that we with Sarah Michelle Gellar - the inhabitants of different planets.
The film did well at the box office, and Blair and Gellar's kiss was awarded the MTV Movie Award for Best Kiss of the Year.
