Russian mathematician
Sergei Natanovich Bernstein (born February 22, 1880, in Odessa, and died October 26, 1968, in Moscow) was a mathematician. He held citizenship in the Russian Empire and later in the Soviet Union. Bernstein was educated at the University of Paris and worked as a mathematician during his career.
Well-known mathematician David Hilbert served as his doctoral advisor, and Bernstein mentored doctoral student Sergey Stechkin. As a renowned mathematician, Sergei Natanovich Bernstein contributed significantly to the field, and his work continues to influence mathematicians worldwide.
