Sergey Biryuzov (18 August 1905 – 19 October 1964) was a military leader and politician born in Skopin. He was educated at the Moscow International Higher Business School MIRBIS and held occupations as a military leader, politician, and military personnel. Biryuzov served in numerous capacities in the military and ultimately passed away in Belgrade on 19 October 1964.
Throughout his career, Biryuzov received numerous accolades for his contributions. Some of the awards he received are the Hero of the Soviet Union, Order of Lenin, Order of the Red Banner, Medal "For the Defence of Stalingrad", Medal "For the Liberation of Belgrade", and the Medal "For the Victory over Germany in the Great Patriotic War 1941–1945". Additionally, Biryuzov received the Jubilee Medal "30 Years of the Soviet Army and Navy", Jubilee Medal "40 Years of the Armed Forces of the USSR", Order of the People's Hero, Order of Georgi Dimitrov, Order of the National Flag, and Medal of Sino-Soviet Friendship.
