Shafi Goldwasser

Shafi Goldwasser, born in New York City on November 14, 1958, is a mathematician, computer scientist, and engineer who holds citizenship in both the United States and Israel. She was educated at Carnegie Mellon University and the University of California, Berkeley.

Some of Goldwasser's notable doctoral students include Johan Håstad, Salil Vadhan, and Amit Sahai, while her own doctoral advisor was Manuel Blum. In 2012, she received the Turing Award, a prestigious honor in the field of computer science. Currently, she is located in the United States.
