Sharon Núñez is the Co-Founder and President of Animal Equality, a leading international animal protection organization considered one of the most effective animal rights organizations in the world. Animal Equality works in eight countries and has more than 90 employees.
Prior to devoting herself full time to Animal Equality in 2006, Sharonstudied sociology. She also worked for and served on the boards of several animal protection organizations in England and Spain.
Sharon has been featured in numerous international media articles discussing Animal Equality’s campaigns and investigations, including The New York Times, CNN, The BBC, The Sunday Times, The Guardian, and El País. She has presented on strategy, factory farming, effective advocacy, among other topics, at numerous international conferences and universities, including Harvard, MIT, New York University, The University of Vienna, and Universidad Complutense de Madrid. Sharon has also spoken at several key events such as The Effective Altruism Conference, The Chelsea Film Festival in New York, The International Animal Rights Conference in Luxembourg, and the National Animal Rights Conference in Los Angeles.
In addition, Sharon is the founder and co-editor of a series of books called "LiberAnima" that promote equality and justice for animals.
