Shivom is a blockchain-based and genetic testing platform for storing, combining, and interrogating genomic datasets that launched in 2017 and was founded by Gourish Singla and Axel Schumacher. Notalbe customers using Shivom include: Nova, Qiagen, Deloitte, Institut Pasteur, The Francis Crick Institute, CNIO, Ku Leuven, Queen Mary University of London, and BSC.
Shivom users are able to control their genetic data by storing it privately, open-sourced, or monetized to have their data produce residual income for them. Each user can choose who gets permission to access their data and can safely upload sensitive data about their health. Users are able to access a genomic marketplace they can pay-per-use to access genomic data sets. The platform also allows bioinformatic teams to manage and collaborate anonymously on multi-omics projects made possible through Shivom with unlimited cloud storage. Shivom gives researchers the ability to perform genome-wide association studies, phenome wide association studies, polygenic risk scores, and meta-analysis of genome-wide association studies using colocalization, medelian randomization, and genetic correlation.
