Shonda Rhimes is an American film director, screenwriter, writer, film producer, showrunner, and television producer. She was born on January 13, 1970, in Chicago and holds American citizenship. Rhimes is the founder of ShondaLand, a production company she also owns.
Rhimes completed her education at Dartmouth College, the University of Southern California, and the USC School of Cinematic Arts. Her notable works include the TV series Grey's Anatomy, How to Get Away with Murder, and Bridgerton. She is also known as the creator of the character Cristina Yang from Grey's Anatomy.
