Shuji Nakamura

Shuji Nakamura, born on May 22, 1954, is a physicist, engineer, and professor from Japan. He was born in Ikata and holds dual citizenship in the United States. Nakamura completed his education at the University of Tokushima and Nagoya University.

Nakamura is the founder of SLD Laser and currently resides in Japan. He is known by the alias なかむら しゅうじ. Among his many accomplishments, Nakamura was awarded the 2014 Nobel Prize in Physics and was inducted into the National Inventors Hall of Fame in 2015.
