Simon Donaldson

Simon Kirwan Donaldson was born on August 20, 1957, in Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, United Kingdom . He is a mathematician by occupation and has received notable recognition, including the 1986 Fields Medal .

Donaldson was educated at the University of Oxford, where he attended Worcester College . He later studied at Pembroke College, Cambridge, and the University of Oxford . His doctoral advisor was Michael Atiyah , a renowned mathematician.
