Skylo serves customers across the public and private sectors in industries including farming, fishing, logistics, railways, and more. The company offers an end-to-end solution providing coverage and always-on connectivity for machines, sensors, and devices. Skylo intends to offer a platform for IoT devices and machine data and enable organizations to have affordable and accessible wireless network for that data.
The Skylo platform comprises the Skylo Hub, the Skylo Network, and the Skylo Data Platform. The Skylo Satellite Network offers a network using existing geostationary satellites to deliver always-on and always-accessible connectivity. Each part of Skylo's platform brings the data to customers of the network.
Skylo's Hub is the equivalent of a cellular modem in size, ease of installation, and affordability. The company uses the Skylo Hub to connect machines and sensors using GEO satellites in a 35,000 kilometer above-Earth orbit. The company uses an antenna that makes communication between the Skylo Hub and the company's satellites nearly seamless, and can connect to fifteen sensors through wire, Wi-Fi, and BLE. The Hub delivers data to the Skylo Network, acting like a mobile hotspot that communicates with machine sensors.
Skylo is able to use the company's satellite technology to offer an affordable way to transmit data over satellite. The company's proprietary method of efficiently transmitting data reduces satellite usage cost, making it possible to provide an end-to-end solution to customers, especially in under-networked and rural areas. Sensor data is intended to offer continuous and reliable communications with the cloud to provide access to users.
The Skylo Data Platform can run on mobile or desktop and features customizable dashboards that give users an ability to sense and see data and business activities in real time.
