Sofia Coppola, born Sofia Carmina Coppola on May 14, 1971, is an American actor, film director, screenwriter, and writer. She was born in New York City and holds citizenship in the United States. Coppola is the daughter of legendary filmmaker Francis Ford Coppola and Eleanor Coppola.
Coppola attended both California Institute of the Arts and Mills College for her education. Throughout her career, she has been involved with a variety of notable works, including "Hi Octane," which she co-created.
Sofia Coppola is renowned for directing the 2003 film, "Lost in Translation," in which she also served as a member of the board of directors. Additionally, she directed the 2017 film, "The Beguiled".
